Community Sauna Highland aims to run authentic outdoor sauna across the Highlands. We want local communities to regularly enjoy sauna bathing close to home.
Our Mission
Community Sauna Highland will provide local sauna spaces, close to where people live. This will allow residents to incorporate regular sauna bathing into their wellness lifestyle. The physical health, emotional wellbeing and social benefits of regular sauna use are well researched and sauna use is growing rapidly in the UK. In the same way that individuals might go for a run or walk, play a game of tennis, meet friends in the pub or visit the gym we hope that visiting the local sauna space will become a regular choice. This vision has grown from the successful creation of community sauna spaces in the UK such as Community Sauna Baths CIC (CBS) in London.
Flagship Sauna for Inverness
Our aim is to establish a well used sauna space in Inverness and from this process devise a local model of sauna space provision that works well for the Highland Community. We aim to engage with local communities in this process and consider the positive impact sauna can have on physical, mental and social wellbeing and community connection. We aim to make a first sauna space in inverness a success for local people. Then we would like to set up more sauna spaces and develop a network of sauna’s established for local use and benefit across the Highlands. The Community Interest company structure and asset lock will support the use of resources generated from one sauna to support the growth of another and so on.
